Igboho writes PMB

Image
As Received: Tunde Odesola (Published in The PUNCH on Monday, July 26, 2021) Shugaban Nigeria, ya kwana uku. Your Excellency, I do not seek to rouse the ghosts of the slain victims of Fulani Ghoulish Nomads (FGN). Before you hasten to add hate speech charge to the list of rootless allegations your rulership has levelled against me, let me quickly state, sir, that ghouls are not only located in northern Nigeria. They’ve sprouted and taken over every inch of the land ruled by your underachieving regime, wearing the masks of terrorism, corruption, rape, banditry, ritualism and daily bloodshed - kicking Nigeria in the teeth - with no end in sight. Aare Buhari, though the dead have long buried the dead, their ghosts won’t just rest in peace. So, the spirits of the dead continuously hover over the face of the waters, crying for justice and seeking repose, but getting neither from your bullying regime. Before my letter reopens the bleeding wounds of the past, permit me to do a brief and forma...

Tact has won this ‘’agitation’’ for the Yorubas

Image
As Received... The Yoruba are exceptional people; precocious, tactful, urbane, and temperate. They are about the most sophisticated of the ethnic groups in Nigeria. They know when to pounce when to retreat, and when to negotiate. For the Yoruba, it is about the collective. It is always about the whole. Group interest does not succumb to the sway of individual ambition. They live by the winsome ‘’kparapo philosophy’’, and the ‘’omoluabi element’’ is never musty.  Let me detour. A united Nigeria remains the most operational means of preserving and protecting the variegated interests of those within the territory. While the ‘’big three’’ — Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba – jostle for sectional dividends, they forget that there are other groups — the presumed minority ethnic nationalities — in the phylum. Nigeria has over 250 ethnic nationalities, but are they supposed small lot lesser citizens? Should the interest of the ‘’big three’’ be the governing aspiration and grail of other group...

BANDITS SHOOT DOWN WAR PLANES TOO...

Image
As Received:    After reading the narration of the experience of Nigeria Air Force officer, Flight Lieutenant Abayomi Dairo, who survived an air attack in Zamfara State, do apologists like Sheik Ahmad Gumi, Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, and their southern minion, Joe Igbokwe, still believe that the bandits are merely doing business? For a while now, they have desperately tried to ameliorate the gravity of their incessant attacks by claiming those people were just “bandits.” But bandits do not shoot down airplanes. It is no small effort to direct “intense enemy fire” at a jet in the sky. If they have heat-seeking surface-to-air missiles to do that, it is a game-changer. When supposed bandits get to the point where they have enough clout to acquire the weapons that can down a fighter jet and even the gumption to draw government ire by doing it, they can no longer be called bandits. Either the people they call bandits have morphed into something more monstrous, or ...

BLOCKED GUTTERS ON THE ISLAND NEEDS EVACUATION OF SANDS - OJU OLOKUN CDA

Image
The gutters in and around Lagos Island, especially Isale Eko had all been blocked and in dire need evacuation to avert disastrous flooding. The Eid-el Kabir is also around the corner, all residents are told to be weary of how they dispose of their dirt's and Ram left overs so as not to block drainages.  Oju Olokun CDA took an impeccable action to look into the operations of all residents and make it a point of duty to guide them through the festive period. The CDA also calls on both the state and Lagos Island LGA to come to their rescue. However, the IGA Idunganran axis of the community was packed on Thursday 15th July, 2021 which shows signs of responsiveness by the state and Lagos Island LGA.  Eko Chronicles used this medium to put all CDAs at alert in order not to be over powered by flooding in their communities after the Eid festival. LOCAL GOVT. / LCDA PROBLEMS IN LAGOS (1)

Image
LOCAL GOVT. / LCDA PROBLEMS IN LAGOS (1) Political parties members during campaign  One of the problems of Lagos state local governments and LCDAs is selling of wares, foodstuffs, gas cylinders, home appliances, pots and pans and artisanship activities on newly built roads and rehabilitated ones.  Citizens and residents of these local governments communities are culpable of these atrocities and still blame the government of inactivities and starvation of democratic dividends. We implore all local authorities to work with the state government to rid off this darstrd acts of the people in Lagos state. Some people place their I'll deeds on the platforms of political parties, especially in Lagos suburbs. "We are APC members and have the right to do and undo", as quoted by one of the wares sellers in Lagos Island.  Bolaji Eko-Odeyale Eko Chronicles
