IDUMOTA, LAGOS ISLAND UNDER SIEGE... Hoodlums at war



 The sight of hooliganism has been the order of the day in Lagos Island for the past four days. Nnamdi Azikwe street has witnessed killings, maiming, , extortion and day light robbery by factions of hoodlums in the area. 

The police had done what could be termed dispersion through coercion but to no avail. OP MESA operatives did a lot to stop these bad elements in the society, but they reappear to torment the residents while they attack rival groups in the locality.

We implore the state government to give directives to the local government authorities and local vigilantes to work together to avert loss of lives and properties of innocent Lagosians. 

The markets in Lagos harbour decident elements, this we believe should not be residence to humans but a market place. 

Life in the markets should be looked into by Lagos state government. 

Lagos state government has spent so much to keep Lagos upgraded but must protect all we have committed to make it a mega city. Fighting crime is the way out. 

Now is the time.

  Violence against women and girl child has been so phenomenal in our society from time immemorial and needs to be curtailed and put to rest forever. This is the motive behind the nongovernmental organization W-LIT that have put in place the machineries to fight this menace.  "Women Liberation and Transformation Initiative" led by Mrs. Toyin Mike-Taiwo have taken their course to the grassroot in order to get the masses informed about violence against humanity which encompasses a whole and not partial advocacy against men and women.
