Image
Culled from Vanguard Online...  *As Nigerians are still in shock over the attack on Nigerian Defence  Academy, NDA, by bandits, a former Chief of Training, Operations and Plans (CTOP) at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Major-General Ishola Williams, retd, in this interview, takes a critical look at the incident.* _Williams analyses the situation under which the military operates, identifying the roles political authorities may have played in making the institution an object of attacks by armed non-state actors._ *_What does it mean for a military institution like the NDA to be attacked and about 72 hours later Nigerians are still wondering what hit their military?_* What happened at NDA was what people can call a breach of local security in the institution. It appears to me that those people who really breached security know the NDA security system itself.  In a situation where Kaduna is known for kidnapping, what is happening is no more banditry but terrorism. BANDITS ATTACK NDA, KILL TWO OFFICERS AND ABDUCT ONE...

Image
Major Dalung, the abducted officer in NDA. The government of Nigeria was ridiculed by bandits and this has brought the military down the ladder. The bandits infiltrated the premises of the NDA, killed two officers and abducted one in the person of Major Dalung. The military intelligence must be put in place to fish out the perpetrators of this dastardly act. This is not the time, as Nigerian publics say that the government of Nigeria is romancing banditry, when other countries are attracting economic break through, Nigeria is attracting banditry and other lives threatening activities. The government of Nigeria should brace up and tackle all of these atrocities.  Afghanistan became debased and it started like this. Where security machineries left the government and the people to their fate.
