In partnership with the World Bank, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu launched the Lagos State Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Women and Youth Empowerment Programme project today.
This project was initiated with a bold objective to support over 1,700 women and young people with seed capital to start agriculture-based ventures in three value chains of aquaculture, rice and poultry production.
The initiative will transform the lives of the beneficiaries, create employment opportunities and enhance food security in our state. At the event the sum of N3.7billion was given out to the beneficiaries who received their cheques.
According to the Governor, "Our administration has been at the forefront of empowering women and young people in different vocations and entrepreneurial ventures. I urged the beneficiaries of this initiative to make the best use of their seed capital and use it as a launching pad to build their businesses".
