MICHAEL OZOR ' THE NEW MAKALELE OF NIGERIA FOOTBALL - Sports Beat

 


Nigeria is blessed with abundzant talents in every nook and cranny, be it in towns,villages and  streets. In our quest to unveil one or two talents this week ,we focus on Michael Ozor a defensive midfielder from CASI FOOTBALL ACADEMY based in Asaba in Delta State of Nigeria. 

Casi Football Academy is an affiliate of CLEMENT & SANDRA FOUNDATION, an NGO based in Asaba and was established to produce future Stars . 

Michael Ozor was discovered  at the age of 12 at numerous grassroots competitions in the state. Standing at 6ft 2ins in height, the now 18 year old Ozor possesses similar defensive skills as Didier Deschamps, Claude Makalele and other  modern defensive midfielders in the world, he was selected for the Dana cup tournament  in 2019 and also invited to the Nigerian U 17 same year but could not make it because of Covid 19 pandemic where everything was shut down. He is out of school and rearing to go.

When Ozor was asked about his future ambition, he fervently stated that, "My ambition is to play for a top European club and possibly play for Nigeria in the World cup in a few years time". 



The C.E.O of CASI FOOTBALL ACADEMY, Engr. Clement Ijegbulem, who is also an ex professional footballer, haven had a stint with Mumbai FC, rates Micheal highly  and believes that Michael has enough skills to play at the top level in any top club ,if properly nurtured, Engr. Clement asserted!

  Violence against women and girl child has been so phenomenal in our society from time immemorial and needs to be curtailed and put to rest forever. This is the motive behind the nongovernmental organization W-LIT that have put in place the machineries to fight this menace.  "Women Liberation and Transformation Initiative" led by Mrs. Toyin Mike-Taiwo have taken their course to the grassroot in order to get the masses informed about violence against humanity which encompasses a whole and not partial advocacy against men and women.
